Favours and Place Cards

How do you thank your guests for coming?  With a little favour, of course!  I want to give the guests something practical that they won’t just leave on the table or have to find a spot for at home.  Thus, I have decided to bake them each a treat.  Thanks is due to my wonderful bridesmaid Sandy for the terrific idea of baking something for your wedding guests.  I was thinking of buying little favour boxes (pink, robin’s egg blue, and/or lime green – I haven’t decided if I should get all the same colour or a mixture) and filling them with one of Paul and my favourites – White Chocolate Covered Golden Grahams.  If you know anything about us, it is that we both LOVE cereal!  Our pantry is a like a smorgasbord of cereal!  We also love this treat, it’s easy to make, can be frozen, and isn’t all that expensive.  I think that’s what we’ll do!  Here are a few links to what I’d like to create.  I really like this and would like to put a paper butterfly on top.  Here are the butterflies that I would like to order online.  I love these place cards and the inspiration for the butterflies came from this photo.

I also like the idea of vintage brooches on the place cards.  However, I love the brooches so much that I don’t think that I could give them away!  Maybe I could collect enough by next summer if I decide to recreate this picture.

Here are a few other ideas that I like.

I’ll be on the lookout for vintage brooches for you if you decide to go that route. After all, it didn’t take long to collect one hundred milk glass vases so what’s two hundred brooches, give or take a few!! I also love the idea of the butterflies on top of the favour boxes containing yours and Paul’s special treat. How colourful and pretty that would be!

Yeah, collecting the brooches might not be too bad, but I think I’ll just want to keep them all! That will be the hardest part!

I love the pink lollipops! The brooches are so adorable…if you go to all the work to collect them and still want to keep them in the end, maybe you could attach them to the napkins? Then at the end you still have your wonderful collection!

I love it too! I’m going to keep checking ebay for a bit lot of them. Did you see the bouquet of vintage brooches in the flowers post? That was amazing too!
